MYOSKELETAL ALIGNMENT TECHNIQUE

Erik Dalton

Myoskeletal Alignment Technique (MAT) brings together the most advanced therapeutic strategies to relieve and ultimately correct patterns in the body that lead to pain and deterioration. It addresses common orthopedic conditions such as plantar fasciitis, scoliosis, sacroiliac (SI) pain, rib dysfunction, rotator cuff injuries, various nerve impingement syndromes such as sciatica, thoracic outlet syndrome, carpal tunnel, and forward head postures, to name a few. MAT works to address these persistent pain patterns by mobilizing joints through muscle manipulation.

MAT also encompasses effective methods for assessing clients’ myoskeletal issues. A proper and thorough evaluation is crucial for the manual therapist who hopes to achieve results. It is important to identify a reasonable hypothesis for what is causing the client’s pain.

Erik Dalton is the creator of MAT and founder of the Freedom From Pain Institute in Oklahoma City. He has developed this rich, well-researched, and thoroughly tested toolbox of deep tissue massage techniques in an effort to help others better manage and alleviate many types of pain that affect people for long periods of time and take a toll on their quality of life.
